Tomorrow, March 3, IHOP® restaurants in the Philippines will join for the first time locations throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico a unique and beloved IHOP tradition: National Pancake Day.

From 7 AM to 11PM, all 6 IHOP locations: Bonifacio Global City (opens at 6AM), UP Town Center, SM Mall of Asia, Century City Mall, Filinvest City in Alabang, and Araneta Center will be offering dine-in guests the opportunity to enjoy unlimited amounts of their world famous buttermilk pancakes for only P250.

Diners will be happy to know that the money they spend on this special day will be donated to the Kythe Foundation, which provides children with cancer and chronic illnesses the chance to learn, play, and grow even while they are in the hospital.

They can also purchase Paper Icons for P50, P150 and P200, with the full purchase price of the icons also benefiting the Kythe foundation. Guests can sign their icons which will be displayed in the restaurant throughout the month as a further show of community support. IHOP also brought the IHOP experience to the kids of Kythe by mounting two Pancake Parties, first at UP Town Center and at one of Kythe’s partner hospitals, Quirino Memorial Medical Center.

IHOP restaurant’s National Pancake Day tradition began in 1995 and it will be marking its first decade by adding to the nearly $16 million it has raised for charities to help the local community. Last year, for the first time, locations in Canada and Mexico joined the celebration, raising money for local charities as well.

Sealing the partnership with a ceremonial pouring of the syrup: (from L to R) Kythe Foundation President Arnel Bañas, IHOP President International Daniel del Olmo, DineEquity President and CEO Julia Stewart, and Global Restaurant Concepts President and CEO Archie Rodriguez

“When, we launched National Pancake Day promotion 10 years ago, we had no idea that it would become so successful and so warmly embraced by our franchise partners, our team members and our guests” said Julia Stewart, Chairman and CEO of DineEquity Inc., the parent company of IHOP and Applebee’s® and Interim President, International House of Pancakes, LLC. “It is heartwarming to think of the lives of the local children whose lives have been positively impacted by the funds we have raised one short stack at a time. We’re delighted that Global Restaurants has eagerly embraced this tradition and is introducing it to our guests in the Philippines.”

“We are thrilled to be joining what is arguably IHOP's most popular and clearly most impactful tradition,” said Archie Rodriguez, CEO of Global Restaurant Concepts Inc., IHOP restaurant franchisee in the Philippines. “With every single IHOP restaurant in the Philippines participating in National Pancake Day, we know that we will be able to impact the Kythe foundation’s incredible work in the most impactful way we can.”

“Archie Rodriguez and his team have cleared demonstrated their commitment to providing the very best IHOP experience for our guests in the Philippines and share our passion for making a positive impact in the community,” added Daniel Del Olmo, President of International, DineEquity. “We are sure that they will make the first National Pancake Day one to remember for our guests, and most importantly, for the children who will benefit from the work of the tremendous Kythe foundation in country.”

In the nearly decade long success of National Pancake Day in the United States, National Pancake Day has raised $16 Million for the Children’s Miracle Network and other local charities.
