S'up? My shirt is too big, no?
For now, world number one Rafael Nadal of Spain will have to wait for another year to complete his own "Rafa Slam."
Facing fellow Spaniard David Ferrer before a boisterous Australian crowd celebrating its national day, Nadal went down in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, 6-3.
Ferrer played consistent tennis the entire match, going after shots other Nadal opponents would not have been able to return.
This obviously proved to hamper further Nadal's game, already notches below his usual due to a leg injury. With Nadal spraying his shots all over the court, Ferrer raced to a quick 3-0 lead in the third set.
Ferrer will face Britain's Andy Murray, who defeated Alexandr Dolgopolov earlier in the day, in the semifinals.
Now, while I know that it seems Nadal lost because of his injury, let's not take away anything from Ferrer. I absolutely loved his game during the match, making Nadal run all over the court several times and barely making any unforced errors. I actually think Ferrer has a chance against Murray if he brings the same type of concentration he had against Nadal.
